Harvest Farm Trip & Randomness.

Here are some photos of our trip to the Harvest Farm in Ft. Collins, CO. We went with my mom and the Murphy fam 3 weeks ago. Thanks Madre for getting the photos up so I could steal them!

My fav of the day!

Grandma showing him the baby goat is nice. Earlier, when a big goat came up and put his face in Chase's, he got excited but as soon as the second goat came out of nowhere, he freaked out! Other than that, I think he enjoyed the day ;)

Well, maybe ;)

Trying to eat his zipper.

He enjoyed the corn "sand box" the most.

We enjoyed fall while it lasted. I say 'enjoyed' because the trees are already turning ugly (in most places) and it has snowed 4 times now!

Chase grew overnight this past week, I swear. It's crazy to me how fast he is growing physically and mentally. Bittersweet! I love each new milestone and lil roll but at the same time, it means he is growing up! Some fun facts/milestones of the past few weeks;
  • He now loves to "play with his food" meaning while he is nursing he'll pull of randomly and start smiling, cooing, screaming for fun and then when I smile in return, he DIVEBOMBS um.... his food source. It's hilarious! I would video it but... kinda awkward :P
  • He giggles. Not all of the time but when he does... oh my WORD your heart melts!
  • His new play toy is his feet. One morning 2 weekends ago, Chase was lying in bed between us and Ted would take his foot and touch his toe to his nose. Chase thought it was funny and from that moment on we catch him constantly watching his feet! Like "what are these?"! It's both cute and funny!
  • He sucks and chews on everything! If he wears a hoodie, it's the zipper. When he's in the car seat, it's the soft muchkin' shoulder pads. When he can't find anything, he sucks on his fist or both fists. I thought maybe he was teething, but can't feel anything coming in yet. Thank goodness! That takes nursing to a whole new level I hear!
  • He responds. You talk, pause, he talks, pauses, you talk, etc.!
I just realized how often I make the boy noises, when I talk to Chase or move him from here to there or whenever. Hmmm, I wonder what I will do when I have a little girl?!

Mini 'Not Me' Monday...

When Chase peed outside of his diaper and all over me in an early morning feeding, I did notthink, "It's okay, it's only urine... and actually... it makes me feel a bit warmer!".... Eww, nope not me! (I did change, really I did!)

When my tooth began to give me problems throughout the week, getting steadily worse and leading into a weekend of headaches galore... I did not decide to take the last 2 percocet I have leftover from my incision drama and I have not taken 1/2 a percocet the past two days to dull the pain temporarily. And of course I do not wish that I had an entire bottle left of the pills until I see the dentist... Not this girl who usually only takes asprin or ibuprofen as a last resort.... nope, NEVER me!!

I have not become one of those mom's who post silly sometimes ridiculous videos of my child being cute or just because. I do not post silly videos of my son or both of us. Nope not me!

You Know Your A Momma When... (#2)

You know you're a momma when...
  • You speak in a silly voice saying "wanna go home and sick in your bumbo seat?" over and over to your little man, despite the fact that there are students walking towards you and you know you sound a bit insane, not to mention the fact that they are probably thinking "what the heck is a bumbo seat?".
  • While changing an awfully full, pooed diaper in front of your younger siblings and you say "oooh yummy!" while they all gag. :)
  • You pick your babies nose for them without being disgusted.
  • You hear the regular flu/swine flu is close to home and you buy a large bottle of hand sanitizer and ask everyone who wants to touch your little guy to please use it.
  • When visiting the baby section is the new highlight of going to the store.
  • Your little guy vomits what feels like a gallon in your hair, down your neck, in your shirt, all over your arms, etc. and you react calmly and respond to his crying first rather than the fact that your covered in vomit!
  • You become a pro at popping the stroller open with no problem (now getting is back in the trunk is another story).
  • You don't mind making a total goof out of yourself in order to make your little guy smile or laugh during his grumpy moments.
  • Your 'sent' box for texts is constantly filling up with photos of your boy you send to friend, family and of course facebook.
  • When Carters becomes the new Pacsun/Zumiez in your life.
  • When your little man wants to eat NOW while your out with friends and the only place you can find to feed him is a table in front of the main entrance to a crowded coffee shop.
  • You blog about things you do as a mother while (or instead of) watching the movie you've rented for a Saturday eve. :D

A Just Because Blog.

Growing up, my mom would say this verse with us (click to enlarge the above photo to read it, if you want). We'd come to her every night and ask for our blessing :) I still love it and do it with Chase now.

A few random things:
  • we've got a nickname for Chase. Chasey. My mom and siblings call him this and it just sticks. I like it too.
  • there is another nickname brewing but I don't like this one. CJ. Let's just call him Chase or Chasey, k? Hahaha
  • we've started this new thing (also thanks to my mom; she's pretty rad) where you ask Chase to "tell me a story about..." and say a persons name or ask about his day... he talks and talks and coos and screams with delight... ahhhh i love it!
  • he looooves to stand in your lap, a table etc. and get's excited when he does and starts swinging his arms out, holding his head up and looking around. Like "Look at me! I'm a big boy!"... (kinda bittersweet...)
  • he loves his musical cow, mr. moose toy, playing on the floor (but still knowing your in the room), punching everything and when he's not punching, he's grasping (your hair, your shirt, toys...), MUSIC (yay!), dancing with momma, being tickled, baby einstein videos (although i don't put them on much), snuggling with momma when it's nap time and obviously eating :)
I somehow lost track of a week of Chase's life! Well, I mean it was there, I just got stuck on the same week twice. He is ALREADY 11 weeks and will be 12 weeks on Saturday! eeee!

Dear Chase, stop growing up so fast! Love, Your mom who doesn't want to think about getting prego again right now. ;)

p.s. These photos are taken with my mobile or iphoto so the quality stinks but the memories I'm already lovin'.

A 'Not Me Monday'.

I am not posting this with Chase passed out on my shoulder. (I am getting mad momma skills).
I did not commit to giving up drinking dr. pepper this week and I did not already sneak one when Ted wasn't looking. I am also not drinking a can of Dr. Pepper right now... um, nope, not me because it's only the first day!

I do not post a photo (or more) a day on facebook. I do not document every little thing! Nope, not me!

this is what Chase is doing right now...

When people comment to me in person about the photos I do not sometimes feel so incredibly silly and say "yeah, I'm a little ridiculous" and believe it to be true. And of course I do not continue to post these photos regardless of that I know this. Nope, not me!

While visiting a harvest farm with friends last week, I did not put Chase too close to a large goat and this goat did not attempt to bit my son. Chase did not freak out when two large goats came our way a bit later.

If you were to stop by my house at any given moment last week, you would not see a pile of dirty diapers stacked in a box beside Chase's changing table. We do not keep forgetting to stop by Wal-mart with a baby gift card and buy a diaper jeanie... nope, I would never leave a pile of dirty diapers!

I did not spend most of saturday in pajamas, even after a morning shower and I most certainly did not ignore our dirty house and I did not veg out the entire day... nope, not me!

I did not frighten Chase more than once this week, whether it be from the vacuum, to sneezing, to turning music on, etc... I would never forget he is easily frightened and make that mistake!

Saturday morning when I stripped Chase down to his diaper (cause we LOVE his chubby belly) and put him in bed between Ted and I, he pooped a "blow out" on the sheets and my shirt. I did not then use a diaper wipe to "clean" my shirt and wear it the rest of the morning before showering. Nope, not me!

When carrying Chase and a huge thing of water on one arm and our ridiculously huge diaper bag and empty car seat on the other arm and someone offers to help, I did not reply with "Oh I've got it, thanks" because I felt like I should already be on top of carrying everything and our baby. Nope, not me!

I do not occasionally say what I want to say through Chase. For example; I do not say "Daddy, It's time to go" or "Daddy your beard hurts my face, you should shave" or "Daddy, want to come to bed"... etc. Nope, NEVER me!
