week 7

Okay so our week 7 photo ended up looking like week 6. Actually, this weeks photo may have been worse than the week before! By worse I mean, not showing at all. At this point, I feel kind of silly standing against the wall, having Ted take a photo! I can't wait to show, and pray that time comes here soon!

So a little update on the baby's development for this week:

Baby:
His/her baby features become more prominent this week... I'm so curious as to what the baby will look like!! The baby's eyes are becoming more fully formed, along with the major muscle system, the teeth & intestines. Also, the placenta formed this week. My favourite part... He/she should be squirming a lot these days. I won't feel the baby until about week 17 or so, but it still excites me. He/she is the size of a rasberry.

Mommy:
I have learned rather quickly that morning sickness is actually morning, afternoon, evening sickness for me. I've found if I eat a meal or snack after 8 pm, I'm good. This first trimester has been interesting! I'm determined not to lose any weight though, for baby's sake! Oh, AND... my uterus is now the size of a grapefruit!!

Well, I am almost 8 weeks, so maybe just maybe the baby will be showing for our next photo! Oh, and this is kind of fun... my first trimester officially ends christmas eve! It's hard to believe I will be 3 months prego with our little one by then!!

Thanks for listening!

Oh Snap, more Babbling.

I love journaling & usually can't go a day without doing so. Whenever I get a new journal, I try and place pictures or words that can be/are significant so when I reach that day in my journal, it's a nice little surprise but also a challenge or remembrance

When I was given my most recent journal, I added a picture I found from a magazine, of a little baby playing with bubbles. I then cut out the words 'you can trust me' as a reminder to trust God. I frequently leave my journal at my desk at work, so I have an alternative one that I write in if I do forget the journal.

So, the mix of writing in both journals over the past few months, led me to land on the baby page the week we found out we are pregnant! I don't think believe in pure coincidence, I know and trust it WAS God's timing. It is.

On Saturday Ted, a friend, and I spent time in one of my favourite places; Barnes & Noble! Usually I would follow Ted immediately to the travel or photography section, but not this time!

I headed to the baby section with much excitement. I remember this past spring standing in front of these very books with the hope that someday I'd be a mommy. Only, I remember not touching, only looking at the covers, because I knew myself all too well. I knew it wasn't yet God's timing.

I don't actually know why I'm babbling about this, but I did find a few good finds, one in which I purchased. (Random fact: I usually find the books or magazines that I love and want while in Barnes & Noble but I usually purchase them at amazon for a better price. I rarely purchase at Barnes & Noble, but I LOVE it).

I bought: My Pregnancy Journal by Ryland Peters & Small

There were quite a few to choose from, but this was my favourite because it has you write a lot & gives you important facts.

Thanks for listening to my babblings!

Creative Father.

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."
Psalm 139v 13-16

This morning I was reading 'The Christian Women's Guide to Childbirth' and I came across this chapter of Psalm which encouraged me greatly. I remember when I was younger, my mom would play a song with words that went along with the verse above. I remember this verse from a young age, and I even remember thinking my mom was silly singing that to me! (sorry mom, I appreciate it now!). Now being pregnant with my first and my own child, I become to much in awe of this verse above. In the past year I've really come to recognize for me personally, how I am fearfully and wonderfully made in Christ. And I can't wait to pass along the truth to my children.

I'm just in awe of pregnancy and how we can create a human being, a child of God!
I'm in awe of how specifically God designed the woman's body for bearing children.
Honestly the more I read the more I see God's perfect creative design.

What a creative Father we have!

Full Blown.

This morning I had my first bouts of morning sickness (which I've heard morning sickness can come throughout the day & today have seen, it can and does).

A few times since I've found out we're expecting, I've wondered if I have been experiencing morning sickness, but then I thought it was all in my head! Well, today there was no wondering! It was full blown.

I am praying that my stomach each day settles at least long enough for me to work half of a day!
I also had a terrible vivid dream last night, please pray against those, cause they really mess me up!

This morning I spent time at home, sick, so I decided to catch up on some pregnancy reading! A friend of mine who has had a few of her own, gave me some great reading material, along with the books from my mother, and a few I've collected over the past year from thrift stores.

I'm learning a lot about our baby and his/her development for each week, and I am STILL in shock of how fast this little one grows! What a miracle!

Also, I was thinking about doing some sort of pregnancy fitness classes at the YMCA, so we are looking into that right now. I was reading about the importance of a healthy weight, so I'm determined to gain the baby weight and still be healthy!

6 Week Belly Shot.

Baby's not showing yet, but hopefully soon!
We had our first appointment to set everything up, today!
We applied for a program called Medicaid, which will help cover all of our medical expenses from now until the baby is a few months old! We found out officially that I AM 6 weeks along, and due July 9th! Yay!

We're Pregnant!

We found out November 2 that we are expecting and have actually been trying for a baby for 9 months now. Thank you Jesus! We're so excited.

Baby:
I am now (tomorrow) 6 weeks pregnant and our baby is the size of a raison or apple seed. The baby's eyes, nose, ears, arms, legs, & central nervous system are beginning to develop right now! Already!

Mommy:
I basically feel like I am on my period everyday the past 2 weeks, and some smells and tastes tend to bother my stomach a bit more than usual & mostly... I've felt the fatigue. I've never felt so tired! I feel pretty great and very, very excited for what is to come! A baby!

We surprised my parents by traveling to ft.collins, co and giving them each a bib saying "i love grandpa" and "i love grandma". Needless to say; they are thrilled!

The countdown til we meet the little one begins now!
